Description
Description
This design explores the symbolic and functional significance of copper, known historically as the metal of civilizations. It aims to revive copper’s poetic materiality while tackling hygiene concerns heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project focuses on architectural hardware, particularly door handles, which often go unnoticed despite frequent use. By redesigning these objects, it addresses infection risks from daily contact surfaces. The design highlights copper’s often overlooked antibacterial properties. Ultimately, it seeks to restore the value of copper in both aesthetic and practical dimensions.
